So I have a brand-new never before opened stick blender, nothing fancy, but when I turn it on it makes a loud noise, as if it needs lubrication. I have no idea how to lubricate it or what to use, any advice?

Spray and pray

I'd pull its bottom off, get some fingers in there, feel around a bit and lube as needed.

Then check if she still screams and whines when you get her going.

I take it you can't return it to a store? It sounds pretty fucked, to be honest. I burned out two of them and both were noisy before they went out 100%
